Elder Walker accepted Christ at the age of 16 at Unity Baptist Church; she joined the young adult choir and was part of the youth ministry. She became a staff worker with the youth under the guidance of Rev. Robert and wife, Audrey Royal.  She remained there until she was called to Grace Community Church of Detroit, where she has became the youth minster until this current time.

She is the mother of 3 adult children and 2 young adult granddaughters. Elder Walker received her ministerial credentials under Pastor Harris. She was ordained an Evangelist in 1998 and as an Elder in 2000. She received a chaplain certificate also in 2000 from Clinical Pastoral Education program sponsored by Sinai Grace Hospital. She later worked as chaplain for 2 years at the Veterans Administration Hospital. Elder Walker also worked in jail ministry at the Wayne County Jail for a year.

She is cofounder of Living Water Counseling Ministries, where she counsels and provides training to others wishing to become Christian counselors.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Wayne State University.
